July 21, 2014 — Horizon Expands Software Help Desk with Bilingual Home Care Veteran

Horizon Healthware is pleased and excited to introduce our newest team member! Gipssy Lupin is a 26-year veteran of the home care industry, with vast experience in all back-office processes of agencies  providing home health, home care, private duty, and DME services.

In her first 16 years, Gipssy worked for 2 small providers and 1 very large one and has filled every possible non-clinical role, including: Billing Specialist, Document Specialist, Office Manager, Pharmacy Tech, Intake Coordinator, HR Specialist, Team Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Billing Supervisor, and OASIS Implementation Coordinator. She became well-versed in billing requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance; served as liaison to CMS Survey Teams and provided surveyors with all requested documentation; compiled and delivered Cost Report data to agency administrators; and processed claims and payments using 4 different medical billing software packages.

Gipssy was such an expert biller and proficient software user that the vendor of the 4th system, Home Care Software Solutions, hired her to provide support and training to their other customers at agencies across the USA. In 10 years with HCSS, her billing workflow expertise, thorough knowledge of Medicare regulations, and friendly attention to answering questions made her the favorite Support Specialist of users calling with software issues; she even provided outsourced billing services for some.

When Home Care Software Solutions closed its business earlier this year, it was Horizon’s good fortune to learn about Gipssy and to find her available. It didn’t take long to recognize that her industry experience, work ethic, and especially her customer-first focus were a perfect fit for Horizon Healthware. In her resume, Gipssy notes: “I pride myself in assisting clients with a smile and taking that extra step to ensure that all questions have been answered and any doubts cleared.  It is my goal to make sure they comprehend the use of the software and that they are completely satisfied.”

In addition to her extensive home care experience and commitment to excellent customer service, Gipssy is bilingual; her fluency in spoken and written Spanish opens new possibilities for Horizon Healthware’s growth.
